We source our data from official, trusted organizations to ensure accuracy and reliability:
- Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) - Provides real-time water level, storage, and temperature data through their Hydromet system.
- National Weather Service (NOAA) - Supplies weather forecasts, wind conditions, and precipitation data for the Lake Travis area.
- U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) - Contributes additional water flow and monitoring data.
Data is updated every 15 minutes to ensure you have the most current information available for planning your lake activities.
Location
Lake Travis is a reservoir on the Colorado River in central Texas, approximately 13 miles northwest of Austin. The reservoir was created in 1942 by the construction of Mansfield Dam and has a capacity of approximately 1.1 million acre-feet at full pool (681 feet above mean sea level).
The lake is a popular destination for boating, fishing, swimming, and other recreational activities. Water levels can fluctuate significantly based on rainfall, upstream releases, and water demand for municipal and agricultural uses.
