Privacy

Your privacy, in plain language

We built this site to share lake information, not to collect yours. Here is exactly what we do and don't do with data.

The short version

We never ask for your name, email, or any personal details to use this site. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and nothing to buy.

Like most websites, we use a simple analytics tool to count visits and see which pages people find useful. That information is anonymous — it tells us "someone looked at the water level page," never who that someone was.

What the analytics can see

We use Google Analytics, delivered through Cloudflare. It may record:

  • Which pages you visit and how long you stay
  • The kind of browser and device you use
  • Your general region (country or state level — never your exact location)
  • The website that sent you here

None of this is ever combined with anything that could identify you personally.

Cookies

The analytics tools use cookies — small files your browser stores — to tell repeat visits apart from new ones. If you'd rather not be counted, you can block cookies in your browser settings or install Google's free opt-out add-on. The site works just the same either way.

Services we rely on

  • Cloudflare

Keeps the site fast and secure, and provides anonymous visit counts.

  • Google Analytics

Helps us understand which pages are most useful so we can improve them.

We also link out to official sources like the LCRA and the National Weather Service. Once you leave our site, their privacy policies apply, so it's worth a glance if you're curious.

If this policy changes

Any updates will be posted right here on this page. We keep things simple, so changes should be rare — and we'll never quietly start collecting personal information.
